when Lil had invited Harry for tea.
Lil the Shrew is expecting Harry the Hog for tea, but there’s a swirling fog outside and Harry is nowhere to be seen. When Lil sets off to find him, she meets Deer, Sheep and Crow along the way. There is something about this story that reminds me of The Gruffalo. I can’t put my finger of what it is, but there is something that instantly made me smile as the story kept going. And the illustrations are wonderful! I love how Eunyoung Seo drew the fog and the creatures. I think little ones will love this. If it’s not the illustrations enthralled your little ones, the rhyming will!
A beautiful story about adventures, friendship and chocolate chip beetles for dinner, the tale is told in fizzingly original rhyme. Accompanied by beautiful and warm illustrations.
Julia Copus’s lively rhyming and repetitive text makes the story come vividly to life.
The book has a Julia-Donaldson-style rhyming text that works brilliantly for young children, and Eunyoung Seo’s illustrations bring it beautifully to life. …
The front cover calls the book ‘A Harry & Lil Story’ so I’m assuming that this is the first in a series about the two friends. I can’t wait for the next one!
It’s a lovely book. Don’t miss it!
Take a smidgeon of “The Gruffalo”, add a tiny pinch of “Foggy Foggy Forest” and some truly charming artwork, and you’re half way towards imagining how great “Hog in the Fog” is.
The launch title in Faber’s new picture book list, this is an exquisite rhyming tale about a hapless hog who gets lost in the fog. Beautiful illustrations
