Here, you’ll find a selection of the articles I’ve written for The Guardian, The New Statesman, The Independent and Poetry Review. They reflect my interests in physical illness as a creative impetus, the Greek concept of kairos (the sort of time in which something exceptional, perhaps life-changing, takes place) and what French philosopher Gaston Bachelard called “la poétique de l’espacein” – the poetics of space.
Also included here is an interview that was published in The Dark Horse. Irish poet Colette Bryce was the interviewer and her incisive questioning made me think hard about the poetry books I most like to return to, my feelings about the archiving of writers’ working drafts, and what it is that makes me want to write.
